e30 keeps dying???!?!?!?

took the e30 out for a long drive today and it kept loosing all power, but as soon as you turn it off and on again, its fine.
And at a petrol station it idled realy bad, reving to 2500 by its self.

idle control valve? any ideas

sounds like throttle position sensor?

The ignition problem sounds like a DME relay fault.
Not in E30s any more :(

i'm not very good on the names of parts, but there is a pipe that connects to the back of the throttle, and mine come off before and the revs went up to about 2500. maybe someone knows what pipe i'm on about?

the one that connects the air flow meter to the throttle body and idle valve, although it has got a hole in there
