A small update... I went to a car audio supplier/installer/company not to far from where I work and had a very good conversation with him about my sound system issues. (basically sounds crap) and he has given my alot to think about.

I currently have a pioneer tuner/cd/i pod head unit and just branded speaker like sonys in the front kick panels and pioneers in the rear quarter panels. Which understandibly sounds crap.

He recommended to start with I would be better off replacing the front speakers with something like JL audio TR525 cx1 speakers fitted with dynamat speaker kit. A Hertz EP4 amplifier (mounted on an ampboard) , new cables, power kit etc and sort out the mounting /fitting of the rear speakers. He reckoned I would notice a great sound difference with just that done and then if necessary possibly add a sub.

What do you think?

Well adding an amp will improve sound anyhow, but using the right speakers, cables etc will no douct be a noticable difference.

IMAKNOB, my cab has enough BASS comming through to the inside of the cab area, depending on how you go about it, it should be no problem at all.If you have a ski hatch on the rear seats, that will be a added bonus, take the panel out from it and your bass will flow

Tari, no ski hatch in the cab mate, but when i told IMAKNOB and mentioned "Cab" i meant "Cabin" mate.

I have a box design for a cab, but it sacrafices all the boot area, plus you need suds that are aircooled from the magnet side instead of the front.

oh right..

I've kind off got a temporary box in there at the moment, which also takes all the boot space. When I get some time, I'm gonna get started on my custom build. Nothing too much, but am aiming for 2 x 12" subs.

Right then, Picked my car up on Friday and I am soooooooooooo pleased with the difference. Not too impressed with the difference to my bank account but thats life... I will still at some point add a sub as its still not got that deep bass sound but for mid bass it sounds amazing. I will just give my bank account sometime to recover but they recommend making a custom enclosure in the corner under the roof area so I still have a boot and access to my spare wheel. I will add some photos later this week as the amp board they made I thought was very impressive.
