I have the 1.9 one which is a huge improvement on the original. But at some point I'm going to go to the 2.8 or Z3M shifter as I would like it even shorter. If you are unsure go for the 1.9 as then the shift won't be too stiff.

2.8 it is!!
Adam's got pics comparing em & we've both driven mine on the 2.8 & his with the 1.9... 2.8's significantly shorter, but requires a li'l more effort like you'd expect. Suffice to say he's probably gonna upgrade
p.s: Thanks again Adam!

I'll start a new thread with the pics.
I think I'm even going to alter the tech article.

Can you include pics of the Z3M lever as well...?
Although I found the 2.8 a little 'notchy' to start off with, the shift action was superb. Made me think about going a little further and doing the Z3M lever upgrade to the track car...

Can't beat an OEM swap if you ask me.
All they do is increase the pivot point in the gear lever. There's nothing magical in doing that so I fail to see how a different make could be any differnt apart from different percentage throw reductions.

How come the part no. given here "1.9 Pt No 25117527252" is different from that given under the "articles" section for a short shift 2511 1 434 148 ??
Thought they were both a Z3 1.9 upgrade ??

I had my left arm broken and shortened!!
This seemed to work a treat
I fitted the e36 M3 shifter which I think is the same as the 2.8 Z3.
