It is just the just the chip.....if you click onto the installation manual it gives more detail...as a Miller Maf user I have been pleased with the product but I am waiting for feedback before I jump into this..................

Ok Sorry about the delay regards to the M50 Vanos, ok i recieved this email today!!!!


Yes, the W.A.R. Chip would work
with the M50 Vanos engine, as long as it is OBDI. We don't have the
Windows software 100% finished for that car engine yet, but we will in a
short while.

This has reminded me actually. in one of the documents it says that the software works on windows xp based software or something along those lines... but i have vista on my laptop. (i do have xp on my home computer but its so slow!) I presume it will work with vista?

You can probably install in on Vista in compatability mode or something like that, if it doesn't install on vista out of the box.

Cant see why not, the Vista is a platform based XP with modified themes and more drivers.. so it should be ok!!! no harm in trying, ive installed programes made for XP on vista and worked the same, if not faster on vista... :D

There's alot of EMS systems which don't like Vista, usually comunication problems where a USB is used instead of serial port. So I like to keep running with XP for now as it seems trouble free with everything. May not affect the comunications with this Millers though :?

This looks like a great toy, I'm quite intererested especially for the different map options, I'd be having 1) economy, 2) maximum power with 95 octane fuel, 3) maximum power with 97 octane fuel, 4) lpg.

Is a wideband lambda required for this setup to tune it?
What else can you adjust other than fuel, igniton, rev limit and idle rpm with the PRO option of the kit? is this more money?

Ps) Have any zoners had any experience with this product?

Dont forget guys, this will still only be as good as the maps employed within, and iirc comes only with an OEM .bin file for the stock ECU

the go-faster stuff has to be DIY'ed, and that will require more than luck.

XP is a better stabled platform as newer editions have been revised, with Vista, microsoft crams too much useless rubbish in there for the reason that vista will see its way through for a few years before updates and newer platforms arrive which keeps the programmers busy with other microsoft related projects.

But XP is better anyhow.

Ok, the first in the UK to get the W.A.R Chip and the GEN III MAF, pix below, once i get the chance to rig it up ill post some feedback to you guys and let you know the performance..

You have to download the software with a key code once you get the kit and the Gen III maf is a bosch unit used in E36/46

LOOOOL, my knob should be fitted somewhere into the dashboard (oouch!!!) and can select 3 different drive settings.. that green wire can be connected to an auxilary alarm which disables the WAR chip from working i.e. car wont start complete ecu disability..

that maf costed me trade (pennies) but is available for $299 which is approx 187.27 for the maf alone then you have to pay delivery and when it arrives it goes thru customs so your looking about in total approx 250 quid to be on the safe side.. i havent yet fitted mine but i did recently speak to someone in canada who has and they said they wont look back on S--TY AFM`s again.. its the best F-----G thing you can give your car and to top it the geezer tuned his car with the WAR chip and got big gains and ear to ear grins out of it..

so would it be possible to supply everything to fit the MAF (plug adaptor, airbox adaptors etc) the WAR chip and the bosch part number of the MAF? so we can source our own MAF's at maybe a cheaper rate. if so how much??

That'll be nice, but unless you've modded the engine somewhat, I would imagine you'll loose alot of torque with them.

I was just looking into megasquirt. So this will essentially give you FULL control over the motronic system and potentially get as much out of your car as a good remap?

Also I want to know if the changes can be made on the fly. Drive around, get a mate to give a tiny adjustment here and there as you go.

Agree with the above, however, there is Accel enrichment and closed loop mixture control in the Motronic ECU's, It also has knock control too believe it or not, it's all not hooked up though, and getting them to work would be a pig I would think? The Boost I cannot tell you.

I would imagin some "I've got a hole in my piston" threads will start appearing soon :cry:

Is that £250 for the MAF alone? Plus the WAR chip and the conversion kit?

I also agree on the AFM removal opinions. Having said this, sometimes you have to modify the cold running compensation maps in the Motronic Eprom as you can get a lumpy idle and cruise untill warm up. With the Unichip I can add fuel in compensations based on the 0-5v output signal from the blue temp sensor :D

the miller site says $599 and theres import tax with shipping so its much more.. with throttlebodies, when you fit them with the chip you currently have you lose the 0-60 which is what i felt when i changed my standard manifold to throttlebodies on the m20 engine... this is when you need to advance the timing and chuck in more fuel at climbing rev range..... so when the war chip is inserted and programmed this is when the changes come alive!!! and the maf is a bonus for the throttleboddies specially...... and also for standard mannifolds from what ive heard e.t.c...

that's why Miller provide a chip with the Maf ...when are you going to give us a road test of the setup
