My electric windows on a 325i cab only open/close when the doors are open.
the power to the window switches is the same as that of the interior lights - ie 12v when doors open.
I've looked at the haynes wiring, and according to that there is no interraction between the door switches and the windows.
Any advice??
Are there any relays that control the power supply to the interior?
God, what did the last owner do to my poor car...see next thread...

Fuse 28 powers windows for the doors when open; Fuse 17 does them when the doors close and the ignition is on. Fuse 17 also does, I think, glove box light, stereo wiring and OBC, and possibly even the interior lights, so if it has blown, you might want to check out those things.

Fuse 17 feeds nothing other than the windows and sliding roof (in a tin top).Grrrmachine wrote:Fuse 28 powers windows for the doors when open; Fuse 17 does them when the doors close and the ignition is on. Could be very relevant. There's at least one other current thread where an engine change is the cause of a similar problem!maf260 wrote:What has an engine change to do with this issue please?dips346 wrote:blue relay behind the glove box and has it had a engine change ?
All to do with unloader relays, and their control circuit.

Door switch wiring is irelevant to this problem - that's the part that's working!clegy1 wrote:check the wireing to the doors where the door shuts could have broken wires and only makes contact when door open quite common on boots and doors on other vehicles
