Does anyone know of any deals for a new 135i? Is it better to buy from main dealer or elsewhere as prices 'on the road' do not seem clear cut some include this and that other places don't is very confusing at the dealerships and the staff aint great either anyone would think a customer is last thing they want walking through the doors.
Thanks, ShakeyC

Go back to the BMW dealers!
The cheapest deals will always be on whats in stock. If they have to order, then it won't be so attractive.
When trying to get a deal, tell them you are ready to sign now, today, if the price is right, first! That gets them going, especially if its in stock, cancelled order etc.
The more choosy you are, and if they think you are not ready to put a deposit on there and then, the less you will get, if anything.
Even if they bid over what you want to pay, keep telling them they are near, but not quite there yet!
Its good fun, keep it light hearted. But only push hard f you are willing to buy there and then.

Go to a different dealer if your one isn't any good.. Coopers in Chelmsford are good
You will get a better deal on a car that is 'sat about' in stock also

The options ain't exactly extensive either you may choose white, black, grey or turd grey or greyer grey as optional metallic paint! and everything else is dealer fit not factory fit so shouldn't matter if its in stock or not? or am i wrong?
Absolutely no excuses for basic good manners in my world, however bizzare it may be.

Bizzare it is, good manners, even if it seems to be there, don't figure in the world of car dealing, house buying etc
If they think you are weak, whilst asking about your family, great taste in previous car, holidays etc, they will give you nothing.
Always be as polite as can be whilst being as hard as nails with your money. They are experts at reading you!

I would say wrong as it would involve the dealer workshop adding extras @£125/hr for anything not in stock..ShakeyC wrote:The options ain't exactly extensive either you may choose white, black, grey or turd grey or greyer grey as optional metallic paint! and everything else is dealer fit not factory fit so shouldn't matter if its in stock or not? or am i wrong?

Why?
Someone come along buys one as it comes, or the dealer has to input value to the car, more effort involved

Sorry still makes no sense to me why would i have to pay £125phr ontop because they do not have it in stock?
The customer pays extra for chosen options and if dealer hasn't got it in immediate stock are they incapable of ordering those bits and fitting them?
dont answer that

Hold on it just dawned on me if these options are dealer fit only, how can they possibly have one ready to go anyway unless someone else has ordered by chance same spec as i want and cancelled and i guess lost thier deposit in due process which covers some of the dealers labour anyway.
BMW have a bloody bad cheak if you ask me, do you have to pay to prospectively purchase one thier cars? £250 for walking in the showroom, another £500 to talk to someone?

Shakey, you don't seem to understand how business works.
BMW make cars, the dealers dont. They order cars, to customers specification, from BMW, on customers behalf. When they order a car, once its being made, they, not the customer are committed to buying the car. If customer cancels, they still have to buy it at the agreed trade price, and give the deposit back (eventually). They then have to sell that car, built to someones specification at whatever they can, often, as net profit (NOT gross) is often less than 5%, at a loss. That is why they are pissed off when a customer cancels, as they then are into an overall loss on the car. To make up that loss, they'll want to add any chance of a profit they can = dealer fit options.
Going back to BMW making cars, they have commited production lines. Not knowing what the figures are, lets say they have to make 100 135's a day, whether they have orders from dealers or not. The cars that are sometimes made without orders, are the ones you see parked in fields. These cars belong to BMW, not the dealers. To sell these cars, BMW offer discounts, to the dealers, and these are the cars that end up on special.
Almost all car franchised dealers are currently operating at a loss, BMW included. They are hoping that this recession is short enough for them to survive and get back into profit.
If 135's are all being built to order, then you'll have little luck on discounts, unless you take that car thats already built. Expect the dealer to try and make anything extra he can, and deal with it there and then.

i will mirror above, dealers make not a lot from car sales, they make their bread and butter through service- either paid for under warrenty - in which case they claim from BMW and are audited on this or whatever they get from older cars, this is why some dealer wil offer cheap servicing on older cars out of warrenty.
as for a cheap 135 it depends on demand, you are likely to find a cheap 120i but 135's may be harder to come by.

You didn't arrive like a typical new car buyer - pink shirt and gelled hair. They probably think you're a messer.ShakeyC wrote:Does anyone know of any deals for a new 135i? I have seen the 135i tested against a Mitsu EVO X and the little BMW hosed it and I mean hose it. I think the 1 series could be the next E30 lol.

I think you lot got wrong end of the stick, we wanted a price to our spec regardless even if it was just the list price. Since the dealer couldnt even manage that with pathetic level of basic service I asked here if anyone knows of any other deals or offers on elsewhere.

I have no useful input on this matter, but this video of a 135i lapping the 'Ring is quite amusing. A rapid car, even in the hands of a complete butcher like this driver:

Oh and when going to buy a car from the dealer, to get a really good price, go 2 days before the month end, that's what I do, they need to reach monthly target figures.

The 130i is 3 door 4 seater (if you can find a dwarf small enough to fit in the back) the 135 i drove last year was according to the BMW man is a 'coupe' 2 seater without as many toys therefore lighter, think of it as a CSL or proper M car.

I've heard the 135i does tend to have dialed in under steer, so its quite hard to get the tail out. But thats only bad thing I've heard about it.

Blitz the 135i is very balanced and focused car, because it has so much grip does give the impression it understeers or makes it hard to get back end out at low speed.
2 dealerships down 1 more to go, i might actually drop a turd on the sales persons desk if this carries on
