Neverending small things giving issues. MY cruise control works on and off. I believe it works on a vacuum type system, and i think my hoses might have a leak or something.....BUT i have no idea where the cruise control unit is!!

Cruise control is electronic on E30's you may be confused with the old Saab 900's which had a vacuum type cruise control that never worked. The main actuator is next to the air box assuming you have a 6 cylinder model E30, and the Ecu for the cruise can usually be found above the glove box or maybe if it is factory fitted above the drivers feet. Any problems are possibly down to corroded connectors/lose connections or a duff control box.

I didn't think they made Baurs after 1987! But then you do get factory 335i's in SA! What other anomalies are there?Hyperion wrote: a 91 325i Baur.

well the only other car we got was a 333i this is very rare in SA aswell, i have only personal seen 1 up close and personal in my life. We never got the full convertible in SA only the Baur. And we never got the Touring and M3 either

i found the controller box, it looks like a sealed unit, and i didnt want to muck around with it too much. I just tried to make sure everything was plugged in nicely. Its work now!
If it breaks again i think i will be brave and take it apart.

Good morning Hyperion
My understanding of the SA so-called Baur is that it was actually made in the SA factory-owing to trade problems while the apartheid government was in power
whereabouts in SA are you?

hi ivqii
The baurs were built in SA, BMW SA imported the Body and chasis, and put the car together here.
The car was my moms from new, so i know every little thing that has been changed on it and how many "little" accidents its had.
I will be posting some pics soon. So look out for it guys!
I have heard of the 335i aswell but have never seen it. I am not sure but i think it might have been badged the 333i, it came from the SA factory in the middle 80's equiped with an engine from the 6 series. Not many around thou.
