My mate let me loose in his 330 CDI (I think it is)... Very nice spec diesel powered E46 and I'm sure it's a 330 anyway.
I have to say it was lovely to drive. He was sitting next to me and he had his fingernails firmly planted into the dash at one point. hehe.
Comparing it to my 86 petrol 325 is interesting. Clearly it packed a bit more of a punch than mine, but it's all low down torque whereas mine has a racing cam and you have to keep it above 4000rpm for the power to kick in. I found myself dropping it down one too many cogs and flooring it with nothing there at all!
Nice car though. I said I'd let my mate have a go in the chav and I'm looking forward to seeing what he makes of it! He's only two years older than my car! lol.

my boss has one of these and the head has just cracked with only 70k on the clock.gutted but he drives it like a tit and has taken it to a cowboy garage in my village well known for doing people over and there charging him 5600.00 k to fix.i could have phoned 2 people and most likely halved that bill,he declined, his loss,i guess thats the bonus out of question this year

330d are a good motor, loads of torque, and has beaten a e46 m3 on the track to(Write up in bmw mag) by 1-2 secs.
I've had a good blast with one of these on the motorway, and he was with me all the way to 145.

True, it was down to the torque the 330d produces, so leaves the m3 in the corners

Then the person driving the M3 was shite! ALL M3's are about is Corner speed. Fail to do that and of course you get beaten.

The 330d only has 19lbft more, hardly noticable.Rav335uk wrote:True, it was down to the torque the 330d produces, so leaves the m3 in the corners

a BMW 330d E46 is also faster around a normal race track than a Alfa Romeo 156 GTA to an information too - I think the test was done at the Ring in Germany, but Im not 100% sure about that...

it's the only thing i hate about it, i come out of the house see it there and think why the f**k are you still here.

They're a great car, but utterly unwanted. I saw a nice 2002 reg black one make £2900 in the sales. Nice car for the money.TheHeap wrote:i got an e46 compact 325ti it's wicked in every aspect
