My wifes private plate is going on this one (UAW737) so it will have no number plate screws with those plates on it. That will tidy it up a bit more.

Back in the day, I had e34's, always with the BBS. Wifey had a Mk3 GTI with the VR6 BBS on them and then I bought the Vert and that has (yes you've guessed it!) BBS as well.
I HATE dirty wheels with a vengeance and I used to joke that very soon, if you need to find me, I'll be in the local special needs establishment crouching in a corner, dribbling over a toothbrush frantically trying to clean an imaginary BBS rim!!! They drove me mental keeping those clean especially on a daily.

The "Slush Box" on these is a steptronic unit, miles better than the old ZF units in e30s..... have a sport mode as well as manual selection.

I had a 523i as a courtesy car once, nice comfortable barge that reminded me of my old e32.

the 523 was all noise and no go though, not a problem that Trev's likely to have with a 3.0 under the bonnet!

IMO the steptronics the one to have for a daily doing +20k a year. But only if it's gat the balls to haul it. The 523 was a slug in auto form. Mates 523 manual is a nice car and very drivable. This 530 thing is in another league. I'd love to drive an M5

Heres a shot of my old 523 interior trim I'm trying to match.

and heres a general shot of it. I liked the car alot. If only it had more power. It had full factory sport kit (which came without the bumpers) from new. Biarritz Blue with Grey sport Leather

Update. The ipod kits in and I'm impressed. IPOD in the glove box and all controlled off the steering wheel. happy days!

Still got a lot to do on this but one thing thats been annoying me was the condition of the wheels. Can't afford to have the car off the road for a refurb so bought these that were listed badly and didn't hit reserve on two occasions winkeye :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0384761270

Also a set of the later style centre caps:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0355313448

and a set of new little M badges for them.

got the rims for £250 and they have not seen a tyre since the refurb. Plus I'll get a bit back on my old rims, the sh1tty carbon effect centre badges as well.

Seemed a no brainer to me.

Had touch down the breakers this morning. Managed to get a complete set of interior trims to replace the wood. Will save painting the others and these are a touch different. They are like a black wood grain? high gloss. I've put a couple in and it looks okay. All for a tenner.

Pics later.

Thats a bargain. I thought they normally go on ebay for 10x that.

I like the sound of black wood.

I fackin hated the wood. I really wanted the grey as per the photo of my 523 above, or the titanium sport trim but this came up and it's 10 x's better than looking like a p1ss poor rover 75!

Just found the official name for this trim. It's high gloss "Cubic".
