power steering rack

i bought a recon power steering rack for my e30 but the only thing is that the new rack one of the holes for were the fluid pipes fit onto is facing in a different direction to the other one and my original rack thats on my car the two holes for the fluid pipes are together one under the other???
i was told that it would fit after i left a post on the forum that told me all racks for the e30 model are interchangeable(b4 i bought the rack)
is there some sort of way of making this new rack fit that no-one has mentioned or do i just need to buy another rack that matches up????

it sounds to me like you have one from an e36, can you compare the angle on the input shaft to your original or did you send it in for the surcharge?

i bought this one of ebay from a guy who had written in the describtion that it was a power rack from an e30 325...... nothing said at all about e36. the rack looks exactly like my one in all aspects apart from the two hole locations i mentioned????

ah so sorry, yea its the e36 rack with the holes in line with eachother.

so your saying that my rack thats already on my car (with the two holes in line) is from a e36 and the new one i got (the holes facing different directions) is from a e30 325???
cheers guys for your input what should be my next move to fit my new rack??? do i need to get new pipes...etc
