Nice, shame it is not a touring. :P

Quite a lot of dosh, for what is basically an un-desirable car(in the trade), and that might have a leggy nakisil block.

Nice wheels as well. :D Rather have this than a shed of an e30 sport. 8)

Stunning. Although its lower end M5 money this should be nearly as fast without the running costs of an M5. And its immaculate.

^ Got 28mpg driving to Castle coombe and back to Surrey the other day in mine
Around town I can't get it above 19mpg though, but that is stop sart driving at mostly below 25mph.
And I havent spent a penny on it since I bought it a fair few months ago and it's been good as gold. No issues but a slight vibration at 55-60mph. I'm pretty surprised by it tbh :D

Is yours a manual?
Thats not too bad for a V8,big bmw engines are reasonably economical on a run as i had a E39 528i,that was really good on a run high 30's but a bit thirsty round town.
Any pics?

Not only do they look good, but do they cruise nicely. Forget hussling it really quick down a B road though! Get one on a motorway and they munch mile after mile with no buzzy annoying engine noise. 8)

I should really get some up to date pictures of my one.

I love hustling mine down the Broads. Even with the autobox and open diff 8O :D The e34 is surprisingly chuckable! I'm sure the mtec suspension on the e34's is stiffer than the e30's mtec gear

I guess they are alright, but you can feel the 1750kilos when it comes to stopping and turning. Don't get me wrong, between corners on a B road they are brilliant if you let them rev. I guess I am comparing it to my other car which is brilliant on the corners and feels totally planted.

Mine has got the M tec suspension as well, but it still feels quite wallowey compared to the 205.

Two totally different beasts, but it is interesting to note the 205 hasn't been out of the garage much since I got the e39, whereas I had it out all the time when I had the iS.

Gaz, I reckon as long as you are not an inner city deviant it is capable of returning similar MPGs in all but town situations as an auto 325i. 6 speed and a mega long FD makes for some level of economy.

As I said, I don't use it if I am going to need to travel soley in large city centres, but on a combined sort of trip with motorways and B roads(constant accel, decel) and towns it will do between 25-28mpg. I suspect, although I will confirm in the future, that on motorways only it will do 34mpg at 65-70ish but probably about 27 if you want to do 90.

Once you get into town I suspect it would be under 20mpg. It is a manual 540i but carrying a bit of extra weight due to it being a touring. I suspect an auto saloon would produce similar figures.

What does the tds do?

Btw these are real figures, not the estimated computer ones which are a bit optimistic.

Your correct Jon, not great numbers in town, 21.82mpg - heavy cars these e39's.
My missus keeps going the local route to school to avoid the motorway

Oh yeah. Was watching family guy and sharing a blunt with him earlier. We're homeyz.

I have ALOT of service history with the car- bill of sale, letters between the 'King' and the dealership. Car was £48000 in '93 8O
He got a £6000 diplomatic discount on the car  and it has had thousands and thousands spent on it 8O

That E34 looks very nice indeed. Debadged as well, I suspect it would surprise many of the Golf/Audi A3 TDi rep brigade on the Motorway. 8)
