I have an H reg 325i convertible. Should this have central locking as standard. If so any ideas of why its not working?

Many thanks, Ash

How can anyone seriously tell you why its not working based on the above info :)
Yes it should have it but lots of e30's have problems with it.
Check the tech section and do a search for red/black wire mod.

Check the central locking connection behind the front drivers side speaker, can be dodgy sometimes

Check the solenoids haven't been removed by a previous owner, they can seize up, some people just choose to remove them rather than replace.

Did a search on red/black wire mod but I think im looking in the wrong place as I cant find anything. Sorry to be a pain but does anyone have a link or know where the wire should go? Thanks, Ash

if the module behind the speaker in the drivers footwell has blown it could have blown all the door solinoids as well

plugs carrying the wires between the doors and chassis can corode, control unit behind drivers speaker is a common failure point as well. To be fair it can take ages to work out where the failure is is.
