I've been trying to make a decision how to go about sticking an L jetronic 323 lump into a facelift shell.
I don't have the 2.3 afm, loom or ecu so it leaves my options open.
There's a 320 chromie being broken near me, so I can source an engine loom, but i'd still need an afm & ecu.. This begs the question if its possible to use the motronic loom / suitable afm & ecu? as I have a few of these..
Anyone know the can's and can'ts??
cheers in advance..

you´ll need to retrofit the timing wheel on to the front of the crankshaft,
rest is just bolting 325/320i bits on the engine.

well the only real difference is the intake manifold and vacuum setup.

how about an appropriate ecu? I have 2.5 and 2.0 ecu's, I imagine the 2.5 will overfuel and the 2.0 not supply enough..

well that´s an assumption.
Run the 2.5 ecu and the 325i AFM + 325i injectors,
The AFM will meter the air going in correctly and fuelling will not be off.
While it can be off during WOT. trick is to disable the WOT switch on the TPS.

I was going to build such a 2.3, but the plan got binned and I've still got the ECU.

sorry, yes fully aware of Ant and his chip writing talents, we talked about this very engine last year in fact, but at the time I was all up for keeping it L-jetroninc.. Is the one you have a standard tune 2.3 ecu?StuBeeDoo wrote:Nooooo!Barx325i wrote:ooh right, what does the ant bit do Stu, are there any details?StuBeeDoo wrote:I've got a Motronic ECU with a Ant 2.3 chip.Yours in exchange for some folding.....
Ant off here - the Dude from A-Tech. One of the things he does is write chips. He does one for use when converting 323is to run on Motronic.

Yes. AFAIK it's just a "mild" spec. (I don't think he does a "wild" one). As I said, I never got the chance to try it. Plenty of people rate Ant's chips though.Barx325i wrote:sorry, yes fully aware of Ant and his chip writing talents, we talked about this very engine last year in fact, but at the time I was all up for keeping it L-jetroninc..
