I dropped the back of my Touring quite a bit today, even further than before. It was 40mm front, and 40mm rear, but now it's about 40mm front, and around 70mm(!) rear.

Which looks better!?

yeah i agree with shane on that one Dave. maybe 60-60 would be better or 60front 40 back? changing the springs on the front is a pain in the arse though i know!

That's why I did the rear mate!! Much easier!

I'll get some spring compressors, and maybe get some -60mm for the fronts.

Thing is I really struggle over speed bumps. It scrapes badly. Might have to go back to 40/40.

Keep it decked mate, looks wicked - it's just down to how many speed bumps you come across on your usual day going to and from work/uni, and any dodgey slopes like driveways.

It's only springs, not a kit,

It's 6 pot touring -40mm front springs, and -60mm 6 pot saloon springs, but due to the extra weight of the Touring, it drops a bit further.

Good thing is I can walk to Uni, but there are lots of bumps round here, but I can go round them! But if the car is fully loaded, and it quite often is, then it's gonna rub on pebbles! Dunno, I'll see how it goes. It's easily changed back anyway.

I quite like the look of it dropped at the back, and a bit higher at the front. Maybe I'll get -60mm for the front and try that?!

I voted 'before' too.

60mm all round would look wicked, though I think you'd have to get 60mm Touring springs for the rear as it will still look 'droopy' at the back with saloon springs in...

60mm all round and I think you'll soon be picking it back up to 40mm again after you get sick of all the scraping. If I had a spare set of 40's when I had my convertible sat at 60mm I would have changed them. Mind you, it STILL didn't look as low as yours...

You could have done with the adjustable rear springs I sold to Scott that came with my coilover kit for the track car... then you could have altered the back as and when you wanted to!

I do agree that it looks a little too low!

I'm not aware of any company who produce -60mm springs for the Touring, anyone?!

I like the height of the front 'before' but the back just seems a little high, if I could get -50mm springs for the back that would be ok. But for practicality I think it's gonna have to stay at 40/40.

Front could do with being -60mm!

Like you say though, I'd be risking my valance!

It's such a hard ride now too! And no speed bumps for me unless taken at a 45 degree angle!

Did you see the camber on the rear wheels? / \ !!!

Dave mate.
You could always have a set custom made to your specification
Would cost in the region of Ԛ£120+ tho
There is a couple of places that will do it for you
You can specify ride height,spring rate(linear/dual rate/progressive)

Try
www.coilsprings.co.uk
www.tas.uk.com (sales@tas.uk.com)
Let us know how you get on

Like the slammed look mate - but its the practicality aint it - no bunny is gonna fit under that front valence if you come down any more lol and it would look better with the front down a tad more..

Looks cool really super slammed though

If it were a Sport or something, I wouldn't do this, it's just cos the car is a bit different, I can go a bit mad!

It's so unpractical though, I can't drift, can't go over speedbumps! For it to look decent the front would need to come down about 15mmm, which would make it even less practical. Maybe when I finish uni, and it's my second car I can drop it on coilovers. Not for now though. Might leave it like this till Lakeside so you can see how low it is in the flesh, looks even lower than the photos.

Put your mobile lengthways (Nokia 6230!) with the charger end down, and thats how low the rear valance is off the floor, therefore the exhaust etc is even lower. Not a good idea.

Looks cool though!

Dunno why that quote came up as a quote.

Car looks much better now with the valance sorted.

Few other touches too since last time. Can't remember what I had then, but now:

Full black leather, M3 Front seats.
M-TechII wheel.
Map Reading Light Rear View Mirror.
13 button OBC.

Picking up a 3.91 LSD on the 12th!

Few other bits, but I'll show you them at Lakeside. I'm sure your car will be mint as ever.

I will leave it decked for Lakeside then revert to 40/40 after!
