A few updates now she has turned 24 ! A recent rolling road session (SRR) she put down 207 bhp and 225 lb ft, however the fuelling is very lean throughout and there is a significant dip in power right before it would be making peak power so I will find out what is causing the problem and get it back on the rollers when sorted.

Here is a quick vid of how the beast sounds...ignore the bald git getting in and out
Splondike's M535i

Starting fitting my new Billies to complent the Eibachs and the whitelines... just need to do the fronts now I have my K-mac top mounts :)

Anyway, I started out with this lot...

Here are the components lined up...

The old ones came off fairly easily with the help of some borrowed spring compressors...and then I assembled the strut parts. I found no rot up there and to keep it that way I filled it up with waxoyl and underseal whilst I could get to these unseen parts...

I now have one of those nice balloon thingies that the German tourist board give to Brits who travel over to Southern Germany too...

Some more pics after a bit of engine detailing (still lots to do!)

I am undecided on my chrome headlight rings so I set about painting them black, and whilst doing so did the wiper arms which were looking tired and re-did the original black grill that was on the car when I bought it. Whilst I had it all in bits again I visited my local $tealer and bought all the adjusters etc for the lights and re-conditioned all that whilst in there. I have also gone for the tidier look without the headlight wipers for now too.

However, I cannot decide whether to have the black grille or the chrome, I had the black on for a few days and then switched back.... the black one looks moody but I am still not sure, it may be because my car has the "grandad" chrome around the windows that I think the chrome looks better.

This is one of my favourite cars on the zone - I'm really hankering after an e28. I actually think it looks best on the 'throwing stars' - just a personal preference though. Keep the chrome kidney grill, I think black ones look daft on all beemers.

Down to two now, I sold the 16" BBS recently. Running on the 42s for daily duties and the throwing stars for circuit action

Looks superb Mark.

One thing that always stands out about the things that you do is that the job is always done to it's optimum. Never a corner cut. I tip my hat to you squire.
