The Z1 Alloys I bought recently arrived at freight depot, safe and sound. I must say, I am very pleased with them.
I would suspect they would be one of very few sets in Australia and the condition is unbelievable. I know a few people on here weren't keen on them but I think the will look great...and a little different.

As you can see from the photos they are in immaculate condition - even the insides. Not even a sign of brake dust pitting. This seems amazing - either they are new or they have been totally refurbed. Anyone suggest how I can tell if they have been refurbed, if they have, it is a stunning job?

I have priced some decent tyres (gulp) and only ones I can find in 225x40x16 are Toyo Proxes T1R or Falken ZE912. Anyone had any experience with these. They are both around the same price.

Hey they look great! Can't think what they'll look like on an E30 so would be interested to see photo's once you've put them on.

They will look something like this (once I get the Eibach ProKit fitted). Please excuse my lamentable photoshop skills :o:

I think they're gonna look the business. Have to say, I think they'd suit a facelift car better, but I know the difficulty you've had sourcing BBS wheels, so this is a pretty awesome second prize! Have to be pleased with the condition of them too - reckon you probably got a bargain there.

Anyone know how much these go for in the UK? I've been thinking about a set of 15" style 10s, but these are definitely nicer, and who would turn down another inch...

BMW Z1 alloys on a E30 will look good tbh! I give you respect who have choosen those alloys because it isnt that often you see them, and they have some sort of a classic look!

What is the width/offset on those? They'd have to be pretty wide to justify 225s IMO...

Very nice.

Regarding the tyres - stick with the Toyo's. They're far more capable.

Sweet! Good look 2 minute noodle! (Can't wait to have one of them again! Beats this "Not Poodle" crap!) Don't think there are any in Taz, let alone Oz for that matter.

This is my dilemna. The wheels are 16x7.5" with ET 25 so either 205/45 or 225/40 will fit correctly. A 215 tyre will alter the diameter too much (over 3% iirc) whereas the 205 or 225 are only about 0.5% different to original.
The 205s are a fair bit cheaper but I wonder if they will look a bit narrow. Because I live on an island and tyre fitters don't keep a huge stock, I have to convince them to ship over 4 of each size so I can see what suits. Even thought 225s on the rear and 205s on the front.
Any thoughts most welcome.
For those interested they cost me AUS$800 (which is about 350 quid). A bargain by Aussie standards imo

I've got 205 40 on mine and they fit ok. 16x7.5 et 25 as well.

If I could get new tyres, they'd be 225's as I like having a bit of meat in the tyres. Probably 225 40 rear, 205 45 front.

Mine are 16" x 7.5" ET20 with 205/50 r16s all round. Pics in the link in my sig! 0.66% away from a 205/55 r15... I'll certainly not be changing size anyway. :thumb:

Added bonus - these wheels are a breeze to keep clean. I can even reach between the spokes and clean the inside. No more clean cross spokes with toothbrushes :D
