Hi peeps!

Looking for advice to probable causes of my sport only pushing 145bhp! The cars 160k on the clock, had bbtb, zone wild chip,6 branch fitted. Plugs were changed last year.
Had it dyno'd this morning and the guy said it seemed to be struggling for fuel, which i sort of new as i fitted a new fuel pump recently.Powers good upto 4.500 revs then flatens and falls away?
Any thoughts/help/advice?
This explains me wanting more power! if she's nearly 30bhp down

HELP!

Mines the same, 325i and only made 142bhp at the fly on the rollers. :(

Interested in some of the ideas thrown around here, mines was overfueling on the rollers, so could be fuel filter, FPR or injectors?

Calculated at the fly....... my own car went on the same rollers and recorded a mighty 71 bhp at the wheels, calculated and 'weather corrected' to 96... On a 320 but apparantly mine is leaning out above 4600 rpm

I won the "Wooden Spoon Award" because my engine is about as much use as one

That's the strange thing, out on the road it is not a fast car, but it feels faster than that

It was made to feel very slow by a passenger ride in a E46 M3 CSL though :o:

Appologies to Howard for the spam... Will go start my own thread.

Big thanks for this arvo Steve :thumb:

As said, taken the zone wild chip back out as well and reverted back to the original one, which has seemed to improve things as well, seems more responsive on acceleration and idles smoother! just dosen't seem to rev as high which isn't a problem  New distributer cap going on and having the injectors cleaned and refurbed.

Its a Mustang Powerdyne at Dynotune in scunthorpe.

He did mention dyno dynamics and said they usually read high because they don't do the weather correction that he was doing with every car today... straight over my head if im honest :o:

Thats my thoughts lol.. Mustangs are ok, but I know someone who has one who had alot of trouble with it.

Dyno Dynamics need weather station readins inputted for every run really and they have an all too illusive intake temp sensor which some operators do not fit properly (ie, next to a hot radiator) which can throw readings sky high too.

The Dastek, Maha, Bosch, etc all have internal weather stations which cannot be tampered with.

But the figures being thrown about here and the fact that they are driving ok makes me wonder about the way the runs were carried out/readings given. :?

I must admit i'm no expert, but my car was only on the rollers for 5mins? surely that's not enough time to get an accurate reading, one run up and then off?
Left not that overall impressed, won't be going back! :(

If i've taken anything from this, it's that it's give me a kick up the arse to do alittle more on the sport, and there's an array of new engine components on the way that probably should have been replaced long before now.And the fact i've met another top guy who'll proove invaluble to a novice like me lol! winkeye

I have had a word with one of my ex gaffers, he used to do some club level rallying and says they all go to Noble motorsport in chesterfield... Had a look round and can't find a bad word about them.

Mine will be having a run down there once the new lump is bedded in enough for a bit of motorway driving.
