Blimey must be a job taking the steering column off. I just cut the carpet, was painfull experience, dont want to do that to the cab though and looking for a way around it.
Dreaming of the day I purchase an E30 M3

It's not that hard to take the steering column off. Hardest bit is removing the security bolts which need to be butchered with a grinder as there is no head for a socket/screwdriver etc. (unless someone has a better way?)madaboutthe30 wrote:Blimey must be a job taking the steering column off. Mine is a 1985 model! On a C plate!
I've heard conflicting reports as to the use of unleaded in early e30s - I understand that they will all run on 95RON unleaded without detonation, but I've heard conflicting stories about whether the valve seats are up to it - I guess the best thing is to use a lead replacement additive if you aren't sure, and think about acquiring a spare head to which you can have hardened valve seats fitted if need be in due course.
Looks like a nice old chromey, and a proper first car. Congratulations!
