Are 325i props the same as 318i? Jus that im thinkin of doin the manual conversion on my car as it is currently (316i) with a view to later puttin a bigger lump to go with the manual box in but dont want to be buyin a new prop n stuff for the new lump.. If you see what i mean
I'd get a large case diff now n i realise the box would need changin but if i can get a nice cheap 318i box to go in for now it would be fine..
Props.. N other drivetrain bits

Buy a wrecked 325, mine was Ԛ£280 and obviously being the whole car there's everything to swap over. Cheap or what.

buy a breaker with some tax left!
seriously, you'd be better off doing the whole swap in one go, much much less work. even if you decide to replace the clutch etc while the 2.5's out of the car.
removing and installing a gearbox from below with the car on stands is perfectly possible but not much fun. better to drop the lot in from above in one go!
if you need to use the car, it's not a problem to install the manual pedal box first then drive it as an auto like that for a while, i did on my m535i. it just means that you can concentrate on the oily bits when you do the actual swap without worrying about other stuff!

To answer your original question, the props are different.
Got to agree with jimbob and Toby_Unna, get yourself a breaker

ah right! and im assumin that the 325i prop wont work with the 316 box..
Like i said tho - i know a breaker is the best option!! I'd do it but i got nowhere to put it to break it!

Looking in the ETK, the part numbers for the drivershaft on a manual and an auto are different.
So, in theory, you will need to buy a crappy, manual 325i, and swap over everything from that itself.

325i Motorsport Edition convertible - gone, but not forgotten.

I know what ya mean about not having anywhere to put the breaker car, a while ago I thought I'd never have the space, but as long as it's got a bit of tax on it's alright - and it will save you huge amounts of costs, time and aggro!!
