How come your not running the powerflex bushes in the m3 position? and the exhaust looks good by the way.

Because the outer part of the bushes were put in wrong lol, so they are concentric.

I may just buy some M3 eccentric ones in due course.

The exhaust came out quite well, it is certainly in no danger of hanging too low and catching speed humps as everything it in OEM location. Nice & quiet too.

Yeh non vanous with enlarged throttle body ported and polished head lightened flywheel and re map. Cat do motorsport only cams for our motor which is designed for standard followers etc. Inlet is 278 exhaust is 272 which i have been told will work perfect with the other mods

Did a bit to it today but not much achieved really.

Got the steering rack back into place and all bolted up. Started trying to bleed the brakes the old fashioned way as my btother forgot to bring the eazibleed thingy, managed to get the fluid through to the rear wheels but nothing happening at the front, my brother suspects due to the ABS system, so I'm going to buy an eazibleed kit so that some pressure is put through.

The front antiroll bar just wants to hit one of the manifold downpipes, the slightly modded arb mounts I got aren't modded enough (becasue I'm using a thicker racing dynamics arb with poly mounts) so my brother has taken a set away to weld some extra metal into. Due to getting the front ARB off we had to undo the lolipops to get the arms out of the way and now can't get them back into place and onto the dowels.

I really really want to smash this piece of shit to bits big time and curse myself for starting the whole project and should have just bought a roadworthy 325, but i'm too far in now and her indoors has assured me I am not quitting on it.

Again, working with about 18" of ground clearance on axle stands with about a foot of room either side of the car takes the biscuit.

I tell you what, this shitbox had better be worth it

If you cant get fluid through to the fronts there is a possibility you made the spacer too long, back the M/C nuts off until it runs through. You shouldnt need anybody pressing the pedal, gravity is enough to get the air out

well I have a problem with my brake pedal anyway because it moves a bit, then sticks then frees, and the clunk sounds like it is coming from the servo or the pivot arrangement in the passenger footwell so that could well be my problem.

The porridge wog i got it from has been a stellar example of how to bodge something together, so probably part of his lasting legacy. I shall investigate.

When you say back the m/c nuts off, do you mean where it is bolted to the servo?

Yes, I take it you have made a spacer? If not then thats what the clunking will be

I haven't touched the servo & M/c mate, the clio servo came bolted to an E30 m/c, so I'll have a gander and see if there is any spacer present or not.

Ha ha its dead easy reading the threads on here and thinking its going to be a straight swap isnt it mate. I havent even got the e36 stripped yet. I am in the middle of looking into supercharging and stand alone ecu but dont know where to start with that. Dont know if the plastic inlet manifold will stand up to forced induction, or how to go about fueling it but still fancy 280ish brake. How much you got left lee? Thats something else i dont know wether to mess about with the looms or just to megasquirt it idea ideas. Do you know anyone whos good with this kind of caper up this way mate

it's nearly there lee, my conversion went swimmingly I thought apart from the 2.8 fly and m42 box issue but otherwise didnt really suffer.

It'll be worth it lee just have to keep at it!

Moved the Oxblood on about 6 months ago, they were for a 4dr so the rear seats won't fit a touring

These with the rear seats dyed black will look acceptable though

Every time I get going I hit another snag. Today I have discovered I have a non-ABS master cylinder fitted upto the clio servo So I have a surplus outlet. Got a second hand one sorted.

Got a few silly things done though and will post up some pics later. It's coming together though.

God knows if the seats will be comfy though

Those seats were a bit of a bargain from Jules in my book. Was VERY tempted myself but no point as I'm selling up in Sept unfortunately

They don't seem bad do they and they have the right mounting frames etc as they were on Colin's V8 touring for a bit.

Had been looking at 4dr Impreza seats but these will do the ticket nicely.

If they are uncomfortable or I don't get on with them I'll always be able to move them on for what I paid for them

Very true. No sliders but I guess if you're the only one driving the thing you don't need them! I had also heard that Impreza seats fit nicely. Guess most cars with a transmission tunnel would be potential donors!

I have a cylinder if you need one mate. Just let me know and i will post it down for you. I made a spacer up yesterday for the clio servo. Got that sorted. Friday the 36 is getting stripped so should have some pics. Also got my hands on a ecu module to sort the fueling out for the supercharger. Going for a jag v8 eaton m112. Think that should raise some pulses.

I'm always on dude, generally have a peek in 3 or 4 times a day, see if there's any entertainment, bargains or if Lee has made any bloody progress... - Just waiting for you to take the leap and spend the extra on the Torsen M-Coupe diff. - Cooler oil and no clutches to wear out!

Might be a consideration if you're rocking Supercharged 24v power, as I don't think the M40 box you mentioned previously will take big power forever. -It's rated at 240NM, the Getrag 240 from the iS (M40 same box?). - Mine's fine N/A but I'm getting a bit of noise off 1st motion shaft. Maybe it's me being paranoid and it was always there?

You just need to blank that 3rd outlet off Lee, you should be able to get a blank from a motor factors

I am open to offers but have got a couple of spare boxes and a lighened m20 flywheel and brand new m3 sach cluch so not really bother about it. Would perfer the zf box in but really think that will be down the line at some point now

I would have thought they were too small, ive used brake unions full of weld before with no problems

my audi master cylinder had 2 bleed nipples in it instead of blanks.

I checked, the bleed nipples are too small, am going to take the master cylinder to the motor factors tomorrow lunchtime to get an appropriate bolt to put in there.

Bought all the new lightbulbs I need today and a chavy universal cone filter just to get me by for now, I have an M30 air box but can't be fagged playing with that for now.

Hopefully my brother has tacked some extra metal to the front ARB mounts so it lowers the anchoring point for the arb and out of the way of the manifold.

Bodgers way with the brake master would be a standard pipe fitting with a short length of kunifer with one end plugged with solder....
