IT'S ALIVE
Seems I had a "kentucky fried processor", that must be a technical term
All working again now tho, so should have it back soon and the plan can continue!!
Big thanks to Bill for sorting the issues and Ant for telling me where to get it fixed!!
I've got no excuses now, the show MUST go on!!!
(I'm happy today

Setting up is mostly done Len, we had a basemap to start with, I have modified that already using my car N/A to get it to start, idle etc, accel enrichment is set a tad rich just to be safe for the time being.
Must admit I did venture out for a short drive... Awesome pulls like a train all the way to the soft cut limiter.
Some tweaks to do for the final map but 90% done already. Result
All I need now is the light greens to drop on my doormat from the US
then I'll have correct BSFC

Still thinking about the MSnS system. When I looked at it waaaay back it was just an injector controller, now that it has ignition too it's a serious option compared to the Emerald.
How are you guys finding it overall? Did you get Jim to build the units and send them over or did you DIY it?
Just looking for a bit of feedback on it for the 3.5, which will begin in ernest in the next 6 weeks or so.

Wanted 320i / 323i Engine ECU for the distributor engine model
Don't need to be a working unit as I just need it for the case and plug connector.
Need this for a stand alone fuel ECU conversion, so just need the case and connector, will be mounting the standalone circuit board inside the 'gutted' ECU case, then will have a plug and play connection to the standard engine loom connector.
(cheap as chips....because I don't need the chips...just the case....anyway all replies most appreciated....)
Thanks.

Good plan gutting the stock Jetronic ECU out
thats gonna be tidy for sure, my MSnS is screwed to the outer case of the motroib for now, will swop to ful sparks once the fuelling is 99% spot on, then we'll have some fun
best bet for the ECU is Jonb dude.
Yeah me had Jim build the units but it seems his qaulity control was a bit iffy, both had niggles that were down to aqssy issues we'd hoped to avoid.
If you are serious I can put you in touch with a guy in the UK thats offering fiull units, for motorsport apps maybe the V3 PCB would be the better choice as its more robust in consruction

I am pretty handy with a soldering iron, used to build PA amplifiers and PSUs, but from what I recall you need to get the simulators and checkers to actually do the construction, I sorta thought that it would just be cheaper to get someone else to build them reather than build and buy the testgear.
If you do an LPG conversion you have a piggyback ECU that controls the fuelliong when you switch to LPG, is that actually still required if you have a programmable ECU, surely it could handle the LPG as well as the normal petrol fuelling?
Sorry little OT, but just thought of it:)

you can set the req fuel to run the correct AFR for lpg no problem, if you use the MSnS -extra code you have dual fuel tables, normally map for on/off boost etc, I can see no reason why the second table could not be setup with a toggle between gas and gas
obv youd need the petrol and gas injectors on the manifold runners
there are 5 spare configured outputs on the MS we are not using , you can have anti lag and Nitrous controller , fan output launch control etc etc

Thanks for that Ant,sorry for the late reply.
Do you know what thread is used as i understand there are 2 types?

M18 x 1.5 is what I have , and is the most common iirc.
the WB02 kits normally come with the req mounting boss, I cut mine from an old cat section @ work and let it into the new pipework.

Where is this purchased from? Manufacturer website with extra info?
Ant do you think I'd hit any complications with installing it? How about getting some bigger injectors as well? So many questions...means only 1 thing, pay day aint far away
