hi there is there any difference between wiring an m50 with vanos to one without
daimlerman

No difference that I know of, as long as the M50 vanos is pre EWS, and no serious difficulties if it's post EWS, as long as you have the matching bits. The vanos part of things is just another single wire in the engine loom, running from the ECU to the vanos solenoid, and doesn't go anywhere near the engine loom plug.
