I have a pre-facelift chrome bumper cab that i want to mod slightly, i have a genuine tech 2 kit sitting at home which i was planning to fit to the car but now im not 100% sure as i like the chrome bumpers too. I have googled it to death and still can not make my mind up. i have considered the tech 1 kit but prefer the the tech 2.

What ever i do, the car will be lowered on some aftermarket rims with a bit of dish (borbet b's if i can ever find a set)

Can you post up pics of some nice e30's both chrome bumper and tech 2, also reason for choosing either style. i really need some inspriation

This is what my car looks like, 60mm drop on the front and standard on the rear (lowered with weight of hardtop and all the rubbish in the boot i that i need to chuck out). since the pic i have added home smoked headlights and smoked indicator lens.

thanks loads,

I'd say leave it on its chrome bumpers or tech I it. It every other cabby out there gets molested to fit a Tech II kit. Tech II is so common now. But its up to you at the end of the day.

Keep the chrome dude

Looks much better IMO. If you want, fit a Tech 1 kit, Tech 2 has been done loads :) Also you will need to molester the car to fit the Tech 2 kit, not worth the hassle 8)

Leave as is Raj, think all those that have discarded the Chrome bumpers, will
regret it in the not so distant future.

Leave it as is on some deep dish alloys, and it would look awesome!

It's the question of what you like. Both the mtech1 and mtech2 real / original stuff are really hard to find for cabrio..
Also, fitting mtech2 properly to pre-facelift model isn't one weekends' job. Been there, done that.

Anyways, here's my friends chrome cabrio..

And here's my mtech2 cabrio ('87 year cabrio with quite a few modifications..)

Chrome. Fitting a tech-2 kit is a lot of effort and never looks quite right on a pre-facelift car. Jonsku's white one above being the exception of course, but that's a long way from just a tech-2 kit.

can anyone tell me the going rates for geniune tech 1 and tech 2 kits? also how easy it would be to sell the tech 1 side skirts if i was to do a deal and how much i should expect to sell them for?

You could easily get over 1000€ for _genuine_ good condition _cabrio_ mtech1/2 kit if it has all the bits and bolts.

Btw, swapping pre-facelift stuff to facelift will run you to problems with back bumper..

Really, i tohught it would be the front bumper i would have problems with. i need to find a guide, fitting tech 2 to a pre facelift car to find out whats involved.

You need the correct "sand plate" (whatever it's called) and then it's bolt-on but in rear you've to change the light surroundings and big plate to get it all fit nicely.
