ahh bugger have you tried gixen.com
stick your max bid in, then doesn't matter if you forget, gixen will snipe right at end of auction

cool gixen works the same but its basically a server with an option of a backup server, i haven't had any failed snipes yet since a mate recommended it to me last year.
I've never used any of those - and have been beaten quite a few times - but I always place my highest bit in the last min - if I'm beaten - then I wouldn't have paid that much for it anyway.
One bit of advice - buying houses in Scotland everyone is used to the closed bidding system - the secret is to add on an extra few numbers to your bid. Your item went for £31. You bid £30. You should always work out what you think it is worth then add something like £1.50. I bet the person who beat you (and it wasn't me by the way) bid £31.50. If you add a few pence on it means you beat anyone else with the same bid!!
Instead of £30 bid £31.50 - instead of £35 bid £36.50 etc. It does work, I've been doing it for years!!

His highest bid might have been £40 but it only needed to beat your £30 bid so it added £1 to make £31. If you had then bid £35 it would have bid £36 until it reached his highest bid.paulmitchell1984 wrote:haha no my highest bid was 30 it went for 31 lol...id forgotten all about it so i won the rear but not the front

Yeah thats right - but if his top bid was £40 then he should bid just over that as anyone else with the same idea for a top bid of £40 will be beaten as well!! Know what I mean??
