Right......after much trouble and strife ive fitted a new front section to my 325 sport. The only problem i have is that on my old front section, the centre box used to rest nicely under the heat sheild. Now ive fitted the new one the centre box is actually tight up against the heat sheild and when i'm driving/accelorating i'm getting vibrations under my seat !!
Is there a way of cureing this problem ?
The front section i bought was the cheaper version from ECP .
I know you pays yer money but it was all could afford at the mo'

if you then try loosening the pipe so you can move it about and see if you can hang it any better maybe slightly bigger exhaust rubbers so u can hang slightly lower??

Hiya Daz, yeah fitted it my self, i might give myself a b*llocking instead
Good idea about the bigger rubbers, to see if it hangs lower.
Cheers mate !

There aint none holding the front section up, i think Daz means the one that holds the rear section up, but it might help lower the front section a bit. Just to get it away from the heat sheild.

Hiya GDBN, its always good to meet a fellow Naylor he he !!!!

Ive just had another look under the car and discovered it isnt the centre box at all, its the collars that join the 2 sections together thats touching the bottom of the car.
I got some rubber strip today from work that can withstand temps upto 177' C and down to -46' and put it between the collars and the base of the car ! It also stops vibration :D
It looks ok but not tested it properly yet as cant get the car to start at all now due to starter motor/ solenoid being no good !

Had same problem on my 320i with twin pipes all the way through - someone had fitted a new exhaust system but fitted the oval pipe clamps so they touched the floorpan when you accelerate - I fixed mine by loosening the clamps and turning them so the 'pointy' bits of the clamps were horizontal. Bolts were harder to get at to tighten up, but it cured the vibration off the underbody.

Hiya treeman, i thought about doing that myself, i'll see how i get on with the rubber solution, if this fails i'll do what you did and loosen the bolts and turn the collar slightly, cheers buddy.
