the back problems will be my fault...... maybe i should stick to one engine....

i need a rad and to mess about with a few things then its mot time. if i wasnt moving again i would prob have time to finish it.

these dark evenings are a bit poo too.

if i get a chance later i will put the photo's of our adventures with the 2 door 325i. maybe another thread for that is needed?

i'm nearly there too, Gave in the e34 and m20 prop to have it fabbed, £100.00 to have the flenges and balanced too.
All thats left it to connect those up, fill the diff with oil, and run the engine to see if the electric fan cuts in

make sure you bleed the cooling system right. you might want to disconnect the fan to bleed it right as teh fan might stop the thermostat opening.

jaffro nearly lost his face when he took off one of the nuts to bleed the cooling! had an airlock and teh pressure built up until it blasted the pressure out   well funny!

all sorted now but i though the engine had gone pop.

my fan is still on a manual switch. right now i dont mind that but i think i will hook up a light to the wire loom so when the fan is on, the light is on.

just incase the fuse pops or the wires melt :?

Well my set up is through a relay, 30amp fuse, and a e34 2 pin therm switch earthed onto the body.

You have chenged the origional 2 pin to a single pin on the thermostat???
The 2 pin one I have replaced in the "spare" in the thermostat housing and connected that through the relay and earthed that.
Don't go changing the m20 one as i think thats for the dash readout

and dingo was his namo :D

good man i will have them off ya after christmas. i will get in the shed and so i can find out where those holes need drilling for the steering block.

i dont have a drill :o:

with the engine mounts on i will be up and running.

just need to stop teh exhaust blowing and then mot it. i could do with a bigger rad as im on an m20 one and the pipe sizes are different.

a house move has slowed it all down. im in no rush now tax has ran out.

ahh balls it got late last and my thread internet connection is slow!!!! thats what happens when you find a house out the way.

so pics tonight when i get home and here is a write up of touring.
i promise pictures later, but just imagine a lowered black touring with a 3.5 in it :D

I have switched this m30 between a 4door, a 2 door, into my mates convertible and then into my touring. It’s the BEST shell I have had as its clean as a whistle. Only rust was under the front mud guard on the front wing, and a tiny bit on the boot. It was the perfect shell for the engine swap.

I have some recent pics I can send no prob.

Right now it has my borbet c’s on but I don’t really want to sell them with the car. I have a set of 15inch black bbs with tyres that I want to stick on. My old set.

- Its got a -40mm drop all round.
- Every suspension bush has been changed to new standard ones so it rides like its new.
- Every ball joint is new, every suspension part is new.
- new flexi brake lines
- new front wheel bearings.
- All metal work painted black ”“ rust proof.
- Its got alloy and rubber engine mounts
- got an alloy steering coupling to fit if you want it. Needs holes drilling.
- Engine is in position 3 (the furthest back for better weight distribution)
- On a 325i rad right now so, works but would be better with a e28 one as it would give more space and allow better cooling. Also my reducing pipe isn’t the best for flow.
- Brand new clutch kit (£££ ouch)
- new waterpump
- new hand brake cables
- e34 ac fan on manual switch
- manual steering rack ( you can have the pick or 2 power racks if you want one to fit).
- m3 exhaust
- new prob centre bearing
- new prop donut
- iS front seats
- tech 2 steering wheel
- new hand brake cables

what else..?

- its got a tow bar.
- Rear load cover
- Yellow stuff front pads

Ok bad bits.
- Needs mot but its got to be ready once ive fitted the exhaust!
- Head light alignment might need doing? Something to think about I guess?
- dead locks on some of the door have kicked in with me messing about with the battery. Will sort if I have time.

Only things I have not put on new are:
- ive not changed any solid brake or fuel lines so I don’t know how they will be?
- the fuel tank (looks fine from what I can see)
- rear wheel bearings. Right now I don’t see a reason to change them.

So it wasn’t just an engine swap, I have done my absolute best to recon the full car. Front seats could do with a good clean but they are in good condition. If I could get those seats in my mazda I would, I love them.

Im going to stick it on the for sale section pretty soon when I get these pictures up and running.
im still in 2 minds to sell it and stop being lazy. ive been the most lazy with it now its done.
