Removing silicones from paintwork

I need to do some minor touchups on my paintwork (chips and scratches) and was wondering what is the best product to remove any silicones from previous waxings in the specific parts that require touchup. I have read that the silicones penetrate the paint so I'm concerned that it will affect the adhesion of the paint in the touchup areas. Plan on using some 2-pk paint and applying by small brush.

i'm not an expert but i'd rub it down lightly with fine wet n dry, then wash with warm soapy water then rinse and dry. never had any problems doing that in the past

hi
wash area with a strong dilution of washing up liquid
this will strip a good lot of previous wax etc from paint
depending on area to be painted ie there may be rust etc
use wet/dry to get good adhesion of primer/paint
if its simply cosmetic damage then maybe try cutting compounds to fully clean paint surface
