m50 wont run right ?

Hi all iv bought a 1992 e34 with an m50 24v non vanos engine in, iv bought it for the engine for one of my e30 projects. The problem is iv changed the battery and now it wont run right lumpy tic over and dyes if i rev it to about 2000rpm and hold it there but over that its fine. the engine ran fine before i changed the battery and its got fsh and done 92,000 miles, any idears ?

How long has it stood before changing the battery?

I only changed it because it was not turning the engine over very fast, wasnt flat or dead. and i swaped it straight over so the car had no power for 2/3 mins max

Get some jump leads on the other battery and try it again, ive had similar before with bad batteries

Its a brand new halfords one, il swap them back. oh and it seams like its poping throught the air box ? iv put new fuel through and done over 200 miles with no problems

I dont mean swap them back just add another battery, popping through the airbox sounds like a missfire/low fuel pressure

Cheers lads, iv fixed it, it was the rubber pipe that comes of the icv to the tb had split. fixed it and now it runs sweet. Cheers
