I've been looking around for a HID kit to improve the headlights on my 325i. I've seen a couple of posts on here where people have bought the £40 kits from ebay, i'd like to know if they are any good?
Or does anyone know of a better quality kit?

I bought mine off eBay about a year ago and have had no problems.
Many years ago, I was told by someone who worked for Philips that there are (at that time) only a handful of bulb manufacturing facilities worldwide. All most of the suppliers do is re-package with their own logos.

can someone please give me a link for these? I just want to have a look at the shop thats selling them.
I bought a set of CHEAP HID's for 48 quid once from ebay. They were really crap interms of quality. One ballast didn't work. Replaced it with HID-Direct kit, and the difference was CLEARLY noticeable - Much clearer and brighter beam of light.
Thing is, it came from China, so sending it back would be a headache. So that was a 50 quid loss for me.
HOWEVER most people that have them seem to be happy?? I don't know, but that was my experience with cheap kits.

If you do a lot of night driving, then fitting HID's are one of the best mods you can do!
All you really have to decide on is whether you want the temperature.
4300k and 6000k are the most popular on the zone, but I've got 10000k because I like blue!

ive been looking for HID kits on ebay and the ones from China and Hong Kong are really cheap, but are they good quality?
As mentioned above, they're pretty much all made in the same place so yes they are good. I got a set from Hong Kong via Ebay and they have been working perfectly since they were fitted over 6 months ago...marley_uk1 wrote:ive been looking for HID kits on ebay and the ones from China and Hong Kong are really cheap, but are they good quality?
i have two hid kits from china for about £40 a set and they are very good, i have 8k dipped and 6k full beams (55watt aswell not the ones that drop to 35...not sure if theyre mot safe but very nice). theyre very good quality and a pretty good service from the company i bought from, cant remember the name though. dont pay silly amounts as theyre all the same. just got fogs to do, 8k to match the dipped i think

I've just had my first ebay HID ballast fail after about two years! Light out, dipped beam warning on, fuse blown, and instantly blows again if replaced.
