fitted an electric aerial the other day on the cab as the previous one's motor packed in...............set me back almost 50 quid from Lloyds but a worthwhile buy!

Would ideally want some sound as i do like my music! But a laptop on the passenger seat will suffice! winkeye

Actually I would quite like some houndstooth sports seats!

And the drivers seat spadge has is really quite bad! :(

You fall off comfort leather round corners! Sport seats either cloth or leather are the way forward, they feel far more snug. winkeye

if you dont need the radio fit an amp and speakers with a rca to headphone jack and have the wire in the glovebox or tuck it under the heater panel winkeye

I would love to do many things to it, I just can't afford it! :( So the saving starts! winkeye

So would I have to have the carpet out to fit an arial on the rear wing????

Thats a relief! :D

Theres rust to sort first, then a ticking noise from the distributer and then I get to save for some new tyres!

After that then I can hopefully buy something nice for it! :D

Ollie,

Get a list of 'bits' u want, and look out for a dirt cheap rusty old no tax or mot turd that has most of the bits u are looking for. It will take some hunting but it's out there somewhere and it will work out a lot cheaper than buying everything seperately! plus u can sell the bits u dont want and make a bit back too!

There is only one rusty arch, the front wings and one rear wing has been replaced! There is some slight rust to the valances, and then the best but, 4 rust spots (not bad) on the sills, which will be fun!

And I hope not Alex!

Ghecko, my Mum hates the 190E and E30 now,so i don't know quite how she would react to another turd on her drive!

yep I did! all welded up now though! My shell is actually pretty OK now considering its age. Not perfect by any means but all the really bad bits have been dealt with.

they all go there, its due to the silly jacking pads on the front

luckily mine are mint winkeye

same on the outer side too, i put it down to the mud flaps, people slate them but i would rather replace a rusty wing than weld the floor up winkeye

i had both sides done on my chromie, and my step dads touring i'am not even going there

congrats on your purchase ollie, own a 316 carb myself. As others have said do get the weber conversion as if it has the standard pierburg on it it will be crap and most likely stall lots when cold unless you let it warm up for about 15mins in the morning, this is whats happening to mine and am going to be converting it to a weber shortly as its my daily runner and will have to travel up to gatwick every day so cant be bothered waiting 15mins or so each morning when shes cold!

Ollie, take the whole interior out, and the carpet. Will give you peace of mind re rust, and
it will be good practice for you. You have plenty of time, not as if you are going to be driving it atm is it. Fully understand how impatient you are, but fix the basics first mate.

Alex and Ghecko, when you guys took the carpet out, theres a point where the steering column goes through the carpet.

How did you guys get around this? I resulted in getting some lethal scissors and cut the carpet away for that bit :(

I think mine had already been out before so that wasn't an issue! There was some careful cutting involved though.

I couldn't get the bit back in that tucks right under the back of the centre consol so that bit's now missing too! - Not that you can tell when it's all back together.

Looking like I'll be going to pick it up a week on Thursday! Only time my parents aren't working when the guy i'm buying it off is!

Real nice guy i'm buying it off! Which is always nice!
It was his wife's mothers car from new, then she gave it to her daughter, who i'm now buying it off! So i'll only be the third owner, with loads of history to back this up!

Can't wait! :D
