Decided to have a crack at making some rose points for the BMW.

Now for the life of me I can find any of these over 30mm long for connecting the joints.

I need M10 and something around 200mm long.

Are these hex connecting nuts or stud connecting nuts or something else?

Thank you

Martin

what you need is a piece of hex bar with a left hand thread (and rose joint) in one end with a right handed thread (and rose joint) in the other. straight connectors aren't great as you have to detach one end to adjust it, rather than turn the hex bar.

I can machine you some for a price. If you are serious about this then email me at chris@e30zone.net and we can discuss this further if you like.#

Hi Chris.

Thank you for the offer. I'm currently just playing with fitting what I have made up. I'm happy there strong and safe but if they make any difference I'm not sure.

I'll need to trial it really.

Just a note for a road car, it can be worth fitting rubber boots over the rose joint purely to stop the inevitable build up of crap around the joint. The muck can cause corrosion which in-turn reduces life and effectiveness of the rose joint.

I have gone through a few sets on my car, mainly they just start knocking. I am not using the boots, purely because my car doesn't get used that much now, but its worth considering.

Thanks all.

I'll cover them with some cv grease around the joints. Hope that keeps it more water tight.
