m30 conversion, E28 rad !!

i know a few peeps have used this, i was trying to fit mine in today, but figured out that the 2 metal box's on either end which normally support the bottom of a normal rad need to be chopped off ! has anyone else had to chop them off? theres no way i can get the e28 rad to sit low unless they are grinded away !

strange. are the rad mounts different on different models.

when i did mine on a 325 they had to go as the rad would not slide down far enough

On facelift-models the bottom mounts have to be cut away. In pre-facelift models the bottom mounts are different and sit lower so you've to make little spacers to get the E28 radiator high enough (so you can bolt it in the upper mounts straight on).

cheers guys, jobs all done, only one side grinded off and she sits in there perfectly ! .. bolts at the top and tie straps below !
