I polished the dish on my BBS mahles, originally i used autosol to finish them off but the shine didnt last and started going wrong quickly

i now use megs NXT all metal polish and the shine lasts quite well (once a month touch up)

What do you recommend?

We're finishing rims with special aluminium polish + drill with felt disc or cotton disc , then hand polish with automax polish.

I don't know where to buy such products in england, here are the pictures :

aluminium polish with chromium oxide (may be in different colours, pretty tough)

http://arexpol.pl/go/images/srodki_pole ... taziel.jpg

felt or cotton discs for drill

automax aluminium polish ( autosol is also good IMO)

To protect polished rim just watch out at the car wash , do not let the "active foam" cover the rim ! clean rims only with special products for the aluminium rims. I was driving my e30 on rims with polished dish for about 6 months and they were shining all the time 8) try to polish the rims for a while with autosol one or two times in a month ;)

My first rims were polished on car ;) But I think it's not good for diff :( Now we have special machine for this ;) Of course You can do it with your hands but it will last a long time and cost you a lot of pain ;) Start with removing the old paint with some paint remover. Then use wet sand papers(of course with water,You could add some washing powder). Grades 320 or 220 for begining depends on rim condition , next 500 , 800 , 1000 , 1500 , 2000 and then drill with special aluminium polish and felt or cotton discs on it ,just like I wrote earlier

Thanks for this thread, it inspired me to polish up a pair of classic Wolfrace slot mags that I rescued corroding in a field with wire wool and Autosol - they came up quite nicely, and being of 120mm PCD, will apparently fit some BMWs winkeye

I presumably got the 'tut-tut' for my rather crude joke about Polish polishers - no offence intended

Hey luzi, I just saw this thread, checked Allegro.pl for the pasta polerska, and found the same photos of those wheels ;) Is that you trading? If so, I will place an order for some things this week when I get my new rims.

Pozdrawiam

It's the auction of the guy who sells polishing stuff. I allowed him to use my photos because the rims on it were made with his stuff :)

some new polished rims from us :
