Anyone know the official 0-60 times of an E30 325? Or what you got if your whip been timed? In particular the 325 Motorsport cab.

Just wondering how it gonna feel up against my 225bhp New Beetle Turbo [which could of hit 60 in less than 7secs]?!

The Beetle will beat your car.

saloon 325 0-60 in about 7.5 secs
Cab's are heavier so i'm guessing about 8 secs ??

7.5 - 8 aint to bad though. Never thought it would be a fast as my New Beetle, with its turbo punch! But I'm gonna get the M'sport cab for the cruising, with the 170bhp being for the overtaking.

I did drive my Beetle like a nut sometimes. Mainly cos no-one thinks it would be fast...so I loved killing them Saxo boys!!!

Standard time for a motorsport is about 8.3 manual and the auto (like mine) is a awful 10.5 seconds

They ain't quick but they are great cars!

hmmm 10.8 is way too slow for a 2.5 cab auto mate.

My manual sport has been timed at 6.8 and she just runs a stainless zorst system

Why to 70mph, that's not the idea of 0-60 though is it? My speedo reading has been matched with a brand new scooby as exactly the same at any speed, within reason :P

The speedo on the Subaru is overreading as well then isn't it.

If you want to use the stopwatch method you need GPS sat nav that tells you your current speed.

Not sure about the accuracy but G Techs are apparently good too.

Abrand new car, don't think so! Does'nt anyone realise you can get more speed out of a 318i if its tuned right and regularly maintained! I also have a pressure boost valve aswell

Then everyone should be getting done for speeding! I know speed camera's give or take b'cos of the overead but you might aswell say that a 50mph speed camera will snap ya when you think your doing 50 and really your not. I'm sure technology has come a little bit further since the 90's.

Overreading means if you're going 53 it reads 60 for example.

Underreading is if you're going 60 and it reads 53.

So more people avoid getting done for speeding?

There was a couple of 325's going up the strip at East Coast Extreme this weekend gone passed, they were getting just over 7.

I did mine with Fozzymonsters Gtech, and got 7.3 and 6.9

I know it don't sound right but that's why i done it twice just to be sure cos i were'nt sure myself. Its probably more towards 9secs than anything and it was my bird doing the times, don't get me wrong, i told her when to stop the clock cos you can see the 60 on the speedo at a different angle from the passenger seat so i was doing it fairly. I'm gonna have another go

Find one of those calculators on the internet that works out your real speed from the tyre size, gear ratios and rpm. Then go by you tachometer. Still not 100% accurate but should be ok.

10.5!! Dam, that is a little slow. Seem people got a lot of different times though. Guess I'll have to have a drive of an auto to see what I think. Didn't really give the manuals I drove a good blast either...might have to give them another go too.

Is it the Ԛ£50k RSi 3.2 225bhp LHD model. If so 140mph and 6.9 for 0-60.
Performance BMW done a test a few years back of the starchip and superchip upgrades on a 325i sport. The standard BMW chip actually came out best. They done 10 of the 0-60 sprint to get an average and the standard chip averaged 7.05 to 60.
Shouldn't notice any difference to an Ԛ£50k RSi then!
As simon13 says 6.8 secs, i agree they are vastly underated the 325i sports, my last one used to keep with the standard imprezas from the lights, it really felt quick.

UMMMM the RSi Bug, I love that. A cute car made ultra aggressive! And you can pick them up for about 20k now.

But no, my bug a 1.8Turbo [that's been re-mapped by Jabbasport to 225bhp - all done on a rolling-road etc]. The RSi a 3.2 V6, though I never seen one in the flesh [and there was 2 at the recent VW show in Malvern, I was there and missed them both!!]. VW only made about 300 I think...wish I could get hold of one just as a collection.

Yeah I've read about getting a 325 chipped - is it a good idea? My bug got a increase of 75hp through Jabba [which sounds stupid but my rolling-road print out says its true] and its running about 230lb ft as well!! Though you always get bigger jumps in power with turbo cars innit? It is so much faster that standard - hitting 100 in what feels like no time.

It does state the official 0-60 times in your E30 manual for the car, and it probably wont make for good reading for those more optimistic of you out there, thats putting it kindly!

I haven't a clue what time my car does 0-60 in, but i think the ones quoted in the manual are half laden, 2-3 passengers(adults) half a boot full of stuff, half a tank of petrol etc. So you might be adding on 300kg rather than 1 man with his g-tec.

Yaa, had a race against my mate in his 1.9 GTi just after I bought Brown. Seemed pretty even (although first time around I majorly mullered 2nd gear  )

Looking back over the post 6.8 by simon sounds bloody quick, it must be running sweet if it gets a genuine 6.8. Was that g-teched or speedo?

My 325 auto, non sport box etc is massively slower than my old mans calibra turbo that he had, and that is 6.5secs to 60 so perhaps auto's are more like 9+secs? and a calibra turbo is 4x4(when they work) so pretty good to 60, no spin whatsoever, and after about 40mph i'm pretty sure they switch over to fwd to save transmission losses.

I would be very, very happy once i've finshed turboing the 325 if it did a 6 second 0-60!

Learn something new everyday about cars!!

Also about the turbo.. a 2.7 runs 6 so I imagine if you can get the power down and no wheelspin I think you're gonna be more than happy :P

mines with a g-tech which are proven to be accurate! i've done loads of runs in mine.

I've found practice helps and with my 16x8 inch rear wheels really help get the power down compared to 15x7 bbs wheels which spin to much

We will find out if mines running good at our rolling road day on the 14th can't wait!!!

Yeah will be interested to see what results you get, Lsd i presume, so that will help massively with those 8 inch wide wheels.

Very impressed from what is a 15 year old car and N/A! Good effort

TBH mate, a cab's 0-60 is entirely pointless,

no-one can beat you off the lights whilst they're staring at your car, and drooling heavily

My 325i will hit 6.9 0-60, thats with a G-tech mind.

I have no LSD or close ratio box, but with the rev limit set at 6.9k I get 60 in 2nd which helps!

I also found that with 15's on you get a better launch and it feels quicker too, 17's don't help acceleration, but they do look much better imo :D

I'm hopeing for low 5's with the turbo on, but will advise what I get asap :D

An auto cab is never gonna be a quick car really, but I have to agree they do look the part :D
