Got a few bits of rust on my touring which I was planning to treat myself (front wheelarch, door bottom, tailgate etc). Looks to be mostly surface rust (just a bit of bubbling) so was planning to rub it down, treat it, fill if required then prime and paint.

Just wondering if this is the best way to deal with it or if I should just look out for replacement panels instead (is it more hassle than its worth)?

Cheers,

Peter

people will always say to either replace the panel or cut the rust out and weld a new panel.

if it is minor you may get away with just rubbing down..

If its minor i'd give it a good rub down and treat it with kurust, then fill/prime/paint as normal.

Give the bubbly bits a good poke. If its anything like my car the tiny holes will end up being big enough to shove your hand through :?
Then its time to get the welder out.
