My car, 85 323i auto, has shat its gearbox - to be blunt, see here http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=131152

As per that thread, ive been offered a 325i auto box from a member and this thread is just to ask - will it fit and work?
It will just be a tempory fix untill ive saved and can fix my original box. I also need my car back on the road soonish

Thanks :)

Why wouldnt it fit? They are both M20 blocks.. Wouldnt make an difference at all. The gears might be different ration but it will definitely work.

Where are the crank position sensors on the 323i? I might be talking rubbish but isn't it mounted on the autobox? would the 325i box have position for the sensor?

Worth looking into, as I'm not sure really. :?
