Fitting some new subframe bushes which have nice big holes in them.. What could be used to fill the holes to stiffen them up a little?

We've been through a couple of tubes of Tigerseal - it's awesome stuff, sticks like sh*t to a blanket but remains flexible. Don't get it anywhere near the bodywork though

Fantastic stuff isn't it! A mate of mine makes car transporters and the stick fecking great sheets of metal on a vertical surface with it!
Dan If you don't have any joy, I think I have some at work if you need me to pick up a tube.

Dont want to state the glaringly obvious, but shouldn't the bushes have the right sized holes in them?
Or am I being daft!

There are voids around the actual sleeved rubber bit. 2 smiley looking faces which you fill.

That explains it - I thought I was being daft.
Silicone is the thing then, I would say.

Which bushes are we talking about gents? The ones that join the rear sub-frame to the body?
I turn my own on the lathe from a length of polyurethane round bar. You can also use Nylon, Vesconite or Tufnol depending on the hardness of the ride you want. I press all the bits back together with an hydraulic press. They are good for the track, but the stiffer and/or weaker the material you choose the quicker they wear out.
I also do the same with the front control arm bushes (just below the footwells) since I can't get the solid M3 bushes here.
