Front mounted intercooler on e30

I am just wondering what is the biggest intercooler i can get into my e30 with out chopping half the front away .
Its for my Supercharged m50 b30 ,I want to keep the car as standard looking as possible but realise i will have to open up the front a little .
I thought of using a charge cooler setup but I am swinging round to mounting s/c on the drivers side of the engine and then putting front mount intercooler in .
Any ideas.
