I have a m20b20 engine in my cab. Just wondering if my blue temp sensor is not getting enough water flow would it cause a false reading thus causing the car to think its cold and over fueling and cutting out.

Far more likely the sensor is dud, and more likely again that the wiring going into the lower half of the injector loom plug and socket has rotted.

checked the loom plug under the inlet and all seems ok, not rot or broken wiring I cleaned the throttle position sensor and all the connectors. Would the blue temp sensor cause the engine to cut out even when the engine is cold. Can't understand why it always starts but then just stops after a second or so.

The engine doesn't stop quickly when you're driving along. In fact, if you're going down a steep enough hill, it won't stop at all!

I can't drive anywhere it doesn't run long enough to even get it out the garage. It starts then stop almost immediately.

its as if i have just turned the key off rev counter drops to zero. saying that it barely has time to reach normal idle before it cuts out.

Right; that confirms it's an electrical fault.
Either the ECU is losing crank position sensor pulses, or it is losing one of its power supplies.
Unfortunately, There's no easy way of checking for certain whether the CPS is faulty, and the power feed points you need to test are hard to access.
Connect a 12 volt bulb between the ignition coil + terminal and earth (on the suspension turret), and see what it does when the fault occurs.
Beg or borrow a replacement DME relay (white one under the cover by the air filter/meter) if you can, or alternatively, unplug it and use two pieces of wire to connect together pins 30 and both 87s of its socket.
