Wheel is damaged but not bent, tyre will need replacing as there is a split behind the bead, no suspension damage.
Just hope the insurers dont try to write it off :?

Ive been given the details for an 'accident management team' who apparently will make sure my chosen repairer gets the job, sort me out a courtesy car and make sure I dont have to pay anything to my insurers.

Anybody had dealings with these companies before?

That will be a write off, assuming it is not a 20000 mile 540 6 speed . Any wheel or tyre damage implies suspension damage, so to cover there 4rse they will condemn it. Might be worth getting an alignment check to help decide whether you want it back for £100 :)

How is your neck Dan ? :D

Beemerlad's the man to speak to about this but generally the accident management companies are bad news.

Have they given you the name of the management company? Perhaps google it for any bad press?

Unlucky, it happened to me about a few weeks ago to!

I got to cruise about in a 57 Lexus is 220d.. Pretty good!

Mine got written off (97 318is), good luck!

Mine was done by an 'accident management team' and I've already had a payout.. Nothing but good service, kept me on the road.

My neck is fine Pete, but I could have strangled the c*nt
Suspension is ok, I checked over all the bushes and none have moved, I removed the tyre to get the bits of korean plastic out and discovered the gash, put the tyre back on the wheel and spun it up on the wheel balancer, its not out of balance and is perfectly round. Done about 20 miles since and it drives fine

Hi Dan, been away for the weekend so only just spotted this.

From the pics you have taken yu have some pretty solid evidence to prove the korean pilot was at fault, reason being that he has damage across the front of his car, whereas if the other person argues you simply cut the corner whilst they were waiting behind the give way lines, the damage would only consist of an area to the very offside front corner. Where his damage is shows his car was at a diaganol angle and therefore consistent with them turning right and being at an angle.

If your neck is alright then fair play.

Essentially you have 4 choices where you go from here

1- Use your own comp insurance, pay the excess and claim this back from his insurers
2- Phone his insurers and ask them to deal with it
3- Use an accident management company, who will be hell bent on putting you in a credit hire vehicle and referring you to someone like me for an injury claim
4- PM me all the details for you and the other party, name, addresses, vehicle reg etc and I'll bell the other person's insurers monday morning and get back to you.

The Kia c*ck has now blamed me for the accident

Apparently I cut the corner and hit his 'stationary vehicle'
They obviously dont know there is a kerb/raised section in the middle of the road he was waiting at.

Im considering knocking his door and letting him know my views on lying through his teeth......

time to complain about the back and neck pains me thinks... nip back to the scene and get pics of the junction with the island and even see if you can find a pic on google earth of the junction aswell that way you can print it out and its a birds eye view so you can explain or even draw where the cars were on the print out..

I could see this coming a mile off mate, but you are well covered with the pics you have which show the incident could not have happened and his car would not have the damage where it is if he was sat behind the give way line, not to mention the island to his immediate right.

be careful if you go over there to teach him a lesson.

Get the pics you have emailed to whoever is dealing wit your claim and also see if there are any google earth street level shots of the location which will help your representatives to show the third party insurers that his circumstances he has reported are a load of smelly brown stuff

Good plan about google earth, just done a screenshot

The white van is where he was/pulled out of, I was turning right onto that road, the raised kerb bit is clear enough, how the hell can they argue that?

My neck has been hurting for the last few days BTW

Mate, you're so home & dry on this one. The give way line for him does seem to veer in towards the island for traffic turning right, so shows why you wiped across the nearside front of his car. But the raised island is your saviour as you just wouldn't cut that corner with the island there and the bollard. He was probably busy looking to his right.

If you need any assistance on the neck front then just give me a shout
