Don't think it's going to be done for the 'Ring somehow, there's so much to do. I will try though!

I could do with a new E28 M5 radiator (£300) as the one from the H36 is slightly bent, really annoying as it's only 3/4 years old. Does anyone know whether I can have a new core put in, rather than replacing the whole unit?

Yeah most radiator suppliers should be able to re-core it dude.

The car did have ABS originally, I've just scribbled on those brackets as the pump needs to be relocated nearer the turret - directly underneath the round hole for the NSF ABS sensor.

Theo is a man of leasure simon. It can been done in the time scale as long as ALL the parts are there to do it.

Did a bit of tinkering on the car loom today - ABS, fuel pump, fan switch and washer fluid motor & level sensor wiring all needed altering (I'm using the M3 car loom rather than the damaged H36 car loom)

I'm retrofitting a low fluid level sensor in the 325ix washer bottle as it didn't previously have this. I'm also going to fit a standard overhead check panel with oil level light - it had an M3 check panel before which doesn't have this.

In a bit of a muddle as to what tyre sizes to get for the split rims. If I wanted the standard BMW rolling radius I would need 215/40/17 front and 245/35/17 rear. However, I've noticed that all the old literature specifies a larger tyre size for the car.. I would usually ignore this but I'm wondering whether the 280km/h speedo isn't actually re-programmed to take into account the larger speed scale but instead just relies on a larger tyre size to make it accurate.

I suppose I'll just have to put the Hartge cluster in another e30 and test the speedo against the satnav and then do the same with a standard cluster and see how they compare.

I thought about adding the wiring for the check control on mine, but I think the horrible red lights look cheap and nasty, same way I feel about the 80's calculator type digits on the OBC.
Id rather change some of the unused warning lights in the clocks for low oil etc

I really don't think a new shell is an option, imagine the costs when you include god knows how much trim, exterior panels, glass etc. Your comment does intrigue me though Dan, who are these 'right people'!?

The idea is to get a decent shell or a complete car. If this isn't possible then plan b is to put it all into a standard lhd 2dr shell. There's no way it's going in a RHD car due the exhaust manifold.

I have seen a transplant like this,, and the steering-problem was fixed behind the firewall in front of the dashboard.. genius solution

even if you used RHD M5 manifold.. is it still impossible ???

I have no idea, but I really don't have the slightest intention/interest in changing it to RHD.

I think the brake transfer bar which connects the the pedal box to the servo would be a problem as there just isn't any space for it due to the modified bulkhead.

Had the car delivered back to me today, after a full respray and all the various repairs and modifications. I'm really pleased with it!

I think the bonnet looks really good, was a big job to get it to look really good apparently.

They don't have a proper metal front valance, just a strip of metal which sits below the headlight grilles and braces the front wings.
