Quick update,
ive done the wiring mod on the loom,
instead of messing with the c101 plug(ie pulling pins out)i cut into the loom
i unravelled some of the tape what covers the loom then picked out the 2 wires (white with black stripe & black with purple stripe),sniped and swaped them over then wrapped it back up with insulation tape.

I want to do the rocker the same as the inlet mani and polish the raised bits but i did a test today, painted a piece of metal with hammerite black, left it dry in the sun for a couple of hours the put a coat of lacquer on it,it reacted straight away bubbling,DRIFTBOY wrote:Paint the rocker cover then go over the raised parts with a block and wet & dry, polish those and lacquer it, lovely!
so a word of warning!
DONT put lacquer on top of hammerite!
obviously lacquered is on the right.

If i'm wrong then let me know

Even if you do get problems, heat up the flanges and rotate. If you read the M30 write up, people are cutting them and then rewelding, why?? i don't know

not so simple... mine clobbered the wishbone lollypop so i had to 'massage' one downpipe a little. i used a M3 system though so it should be possible to make them clear otherwise. not sure what the manifold / downpipe bit of the M3 exhaust looks like, they must have done something there for clearance.Rav335uk wrote:One answer to that Lee.

cireland engineering lollypops will give loads more clearance though

Ive sprayed the rocker cover the same as the inlet manifold (hammered black) just waiting for it to dry fully so i can polish up the raised bits.
my order should be here from cotswold by the weekend
new banjo bolts and seals for the spraybar, thermostat hose and sump gasket
Hopefully my mounts will be here tomorrow from beefy too!

Bit of an update!
Rocker cover rubbed down and painted in hammerite hammered black,
took 2 days to fully dry

Then hit it with the dremel with a polishing wheel and some megs metal polish,
cant get a good picture but it is like a mirror!

Here's what i used

Delivery came from cotswold today
New banjo bolts and washers (for the spraybar),top hose (little elbow) E28 T piece and the sump gasket

i was bored so i decided to put it all back together and as you all know one job turns into another

Done a bit of plumbing too,i used the E28 T piece and the original length of hose to the heater matrix

Made a cut for the T piece

Then fitted the hose back on and with some fiddling around got it to sit just right so the open end of the T piece is ready to connect to the E30 expansion tank (hope its right)

This is how they come out at the back of the engine, hopefully they should be long enough,i will cut to size when the engine goes in.

Left to do:
SUMP GASKET

Well done on the work on the engine, looks the doggies, how long now till it's in????
