Hey all i have taken my inlet manifold of because it was dirty and well basicly needed a clean lol, the car is 19 years old and i think i am the first person to actully clean the engine, but i seem to have a problem the manafold itself is in almost perfect order besides the dirt, when i cleaned all the oily stuff off i was left with ca\n only be described as a dark cloudy like dirt that doesnt seem to want to come off, i tryed wire brush, broke 3, wire wool, alsort's of spirit's to try shifting it and even my dad's electric sander dnt worry tho it didnt do nothing lol, i have posted a picture to show

concentrated traffic film remover, give it a good soaking in that stuff and then jet wash it

i dont know why but all of my car has been rele easy to dismantle lol :D dont know if that is a good thing of bad hehe, i orderd a new gasket set of e-bay cos me £32 :(, but never mind anyway thank you for your info i will try that concentrated traffic film remover thanks but i need to get my jetwash hose fixed as it split and desided to cover me with a HUGE shower of water lol,

£32 for a rocker cover gasket, are you sure you orderd the rite one :?

no it's a full gasket set every gasket on the engine :D i want it all to run like new lol :D

the guy who owned my 318is before me sprayed the inlet and rocker cover gold. Looks ok, not sure if i'd have gone with black or silver instead, something a little less in your face.

Soak it in some form of engine cleaner for about an hour and then put it in the dish washer, it will come up a treat
