i want to take my door handles off so i can paint them lachs silber.

They will be put back on afterwards.

only problem is... how do they all come off?

Once they are off, do i just rub them down and paint and clear on top, or do i need to prime first?

they just undo with 2 scews ...its easy to see if you pull them up...a 2 minute job even if you have 2 left hands.....I would prime them....

the best way is to blag a spare and do it first !

I suggest you take it to your panel shop mate.... If you dont know how to take them off its safe to assume you dont know how to paint either.... Please dont do a bodgy job, your car deserves better.

... and how will you ever learn to remove a door handle (and paint it) if you don't try!

Go for it. And prime it first :)

just a tip ..wedge a piece of wood under the arms before you try and put them back ..it saves the need for a third hand...
