I am currently wiring up my S50 conversion and am running new wires/trunking/plug from the E34 sump oil level sensor to work with my E30 check panel. I have run three wires (static and dynamic oil level and ground) to the sender unit and got a plug that will fit.
Ian has helped me out (loads and loads!) but off the top of his head couldn't remember whether pin one or pin three is the dynamic or the static oil level signal pin (pin 2 is the ground).
Does anyone know? It'll save me having to re-visit the wires to swap them over if I get them wrong.
Many thanks.
Jai

On the E30 side, pin 2 is dynamic and 10 is static

The Blue/White should be connected to Pin 2 C101
The Blue/Yellow should be connected to Pin 10 C101
Easy

Dont suppose you have sensor pin numbers do you dan?
I am using an E36 plug as it's all I have without taking a trip to the breakers; and the S50 oil level wiring is different. Pin 1 (on the plug) is Green/white, pin 2 is Brown/Orange and pin 3 is Grey/Brown. Will join the brown/orange pin 2 to ground, and need to know which to join my violet/green (pin 10 C101 plug - oil level dynamic) and my green/yellow (pin 2 C101 - Oil level static) to.
I'll probably have to do it trial and error!
Many thanks,
Jai

Brown/orange is definitely earth, and if you get the other two the wrong way around (as I did at first), the LED comes on with the sump full, and off when the level is low.

As long as you have the check control panel there is no reason why it cannot be wired up
