Help me make up my mind
Moderator: martauto
I have got a 1989 316 2 door thats got a mint shell
Now i didnt have the car long before the headgasket went
its got a 323 engine in it, the car seems to good to break but if all else fails i may have no choice.
do i?
-> Get the head gasket done?
-> Source another engine and drop that in
-> Strip the car for bits?
-> Sell the car how it is?
i know if i put another engine in id want keep it but with other projects on at the same time i wont have the space, so no matter what happens the car will be going one way or another, Just want to get as much money back as possible
opinions please ????

eather way keep the car. wot ever you put in just have fun with it. if the shell is mintey mint and you keep it that way its worth it.
Yer i am sorry for my bad spelling. i am dislexic and find it just as hard to read your posts as you do mine.

why not have a go at fixing the head gasket yourself ? if the head is not cracked it's an easy fix if your handy with spanners,
a weekend of coffee a packet of fags , some head scratching and the occasional glance at the zone tech part of the forum helped me do my first head gasket !
an elring head set and a set of stretch bolts comes to around 60 squids from GSF

well you can pick up a m20b25 with ecu and all the bit needed to fit it for around £200 use the flywheel off the engine in your car as its lighter than the 2.5 flywheel. this is the way i would go its go to be better than messing with a m20b23

I could idealy do with the money for me other cars though. say it costs me 350 to drop another engine in then abit of tax, mot is up in may then sell it like that just say 500 and its back on the road what is it worth like that?
