My E34 iX touring has decided to show low oil pressure light and check-control warning...
I've changed the switch and checked the oil-filter bolt to ensure the rubber o-ring is still in place..
The problem still exists, though...
The engine sounds fine and appears to run OK...when I last drove it (Monday) it worked perfectly without any issues...
Problem is, I need a daily driver.
Do I sell it as-is, fix it then sell it or fix it and keep it or break it for spares?
I hate dilemmas...
Any suggestions?
PS: I suspect that the problem is likely to be either a failed oil pump or drive or a camshaft end-seal
what to do...

What engine is it? Surely if its an M50 then swapping for a known-good engine would be the easiest option. You can keep/strip/rebuild your old engine in slowtime if you're kinky that way

I could rebuild it, but at the moment the engine is in good health, no noises and (apparantly) no oil pressure!
If I was going to repair it, I would remove the sump and inspect/replace the oil pump, drive sprocket and pressure relief valve. The most likely cause of failure (if there is a mechanical failure) will be the sprocket drive...
The main issue is it is an iX and therefore requires removal of the offside driveshaft as well as the sump...
I am going to get myself a mechanical pressure gauge and check the pressure for real...
If there is pressure, then the fault is electrical and relatively easily sorted....
If there is no pressure, then I am going to p/ex it with an E36 328i 4dr that is more my sort of thing anyway...

AS above, get a gauge on it, or council stylee, whilst running ,loosen the 13mm oil filter housing bolt and see how much oil spews out !
E34 dash clusters are a bit flaky and the oil pressure warning is one i have seen before . Usually low oil level or pressure will be quite obvious in that your tappets will become quite vocal.
