The M20 engine has mechanical tappets rather than hydraulic ones, so if they haven't been adjusted in a while they may be noisy.

My guess is checking the valve clearance and adjusting if necessary should solve the problem. Valve clearance should be set to 0.25mm with the engine cold iirc.

The noise you are talking about is injectors.....maybe with a slight noise from the tappets. Adjust the tappets...but the noise wont go.

1st don't overtighten tappets as they could snap the rockers.

2nd have you changed the oil lately???
if there wern't people like me,
with cars like mine,
who would you put down to make yourself feel better?

is this a common thing on 325's. ive changed the oil and filters and had the valves set to the right clearance but the noise is still there. are the injectors ment to make this noise? how do i make them quieter? or have they had it?

any advice? cheers.
