I bought a 525tds a month ago (risk I know!) £850 with tax till jan 2010 after selling my 325

Heard all the horror stories about the pump going and other things which will cost 1k plus but went for it anyway - I kind of like the risk of breaking down

Anyway, I do a lot of motorway miles (you'll never notive it's a diesel at 70mph) and last time I filled her up I got 705 miles from the tank 8O

Driving was pretty careful at about 70-80mph and the real time mpg thing sitting at 50mpg :D

She occasionally takes a bit to get started, got a new set of glow plugs ready to fit and I've just changed the drop links this weekend (ended up sawing one off!) to stop a bit of rattle and getting the alarm/immobiliser removed soon but so far so good.

Very impressed from the old barge :D

Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....
