pull off the triangular trim.
unscrew bolts.

don't bother removing the glass. just mask it off.

what about gutting the mirror itself? like getting the glass and whatever else is inside

shove a flat screwdriver up the hole in the bottom and twist. be carefull, i broke mine doing it.
why remove the mirror? is it broken? nowt behind it except 2 motors and some VERY fragile(sp?) plastic bits.

yep. why risk breaking it if you can just put tape over!
